iClicker Cloud will become the sole supported iClicker service in January 2024. If you have previously used iClicker Classic in your courses, visit the iClicker instructor transition page for more information. iClicker Cloud 5.3.1 is now the minimum required version of software.

Record attendance, poll responses, and quiz scores with handheld remotes or mobile devices.

This tool is also available as an integration with UVACanvas, UVACollab and Brightspace (Commerce). Log into a supported LMS and add the tool to use it there.

To begin using this tool, create an instructor account, select University of Virginia Main Campus or The University of Virginia's College at Wise as your Primary Institution, and enter your UVA email address.

Please note that my ratings are for iClicker CLASSIC, not iClicker Cloud. I tried Cloud, but found Classic to have distinct advantages for me. In fact, the only trouble with Classic was frequent trouble supporting those using the app (formerly REEF) rather than physical remote. I heard from colleagues that they too experienced similar connectivity problems with Cloud.

iClicker Cloud is easy to setup and easy to use. I like the flexibility available to students re: which device they use. The biggest issue with iclicker is the syncing capabilities. The fact that individual sessions cannot sync to Collab is limiting. The work around is to download from iClicker then manually import into Collab which is... doable, but inconvenient, especially when you consider students who forget to register their clickers, which requires a re-download/upload. However, this may cease to be an issue once UVA's LMS is updated.
